USMNT U-20 Draw with France 1-1

It was a great game for the US, who showed remarkable poise in the back against some strong play from the French forwards.  They consistently got back, and when they couldn’t, Cody Cropper was there to stop the shot.

I think I was most pleased with Cody Cropper.  Having had a chance to see the U-23 play last year, I was not impressed with the goalies that were on offer for them.  Cody Cropper, in an admittedly small sample, looked the part of a top level goalie.  I’m concerned he’s not getting enough first team practice with Southampton u-21’s right now, but hopefully he’ll get a chance to play on the first team soon, particularly if they are watching the play during this tournament.  I’m looking forward to the game against Ghana coming up.

Also, I’m happy to see the young-uns playing in the hoops!  I’m a big fan of those jerseys, because they are unique and help to separate the USMNT from other teams around the world.
